narrative strategy

Communications

Positioning a campaign, project, or brand with audiences is a layered process. It’s as much a matter of understanding one’s periphery as it is knowing what one wants to say. Doing all of this in an increasingly fraught world poses enormous challenges. It also poses critical points of intervention; opportunities to showcase authenticity, integrity, and purpose.

Having cut my teeth working in grassroots social movements and organizing, the economy of improvising with minimal resources for maximal storytelling impact is my wheel house. It’s also a wildly flexible and transferable way of doing things. Presentation development, event coordination, PR, social impact/ESG reporting, editorial — the possibilities are practically endless.

Research & Development

I come armed with three key assets: bottomless curiosity, a near-photographic memory, and a broad network of peers in various professional and academic research roles. The first two make for a sort of virtual archive; an internal database that illuminates possible lines of narrative exploration and execution. The latter picks up where that leaves off, providing deeper lines of inquiry and data-collection.

If you’ve got the seed of an idea, but no real sense where to go with it, chances are I can help build it out. Research, literature review and analysis, differentiation and positioning, and strategic execution -- I’m here for it all.
